Protect the growing body
Exercise limits & growth plates
A growing Shiba Inu still follows the manual's general growth-plate protections. Use self-paced sniffing, searching, short varied training and exploration on a securely attached long line or within fully secure fencing. Free activity belongs inside audited fencing; an open reserve or beach is not a substitute. Do not use forced distance, repetitive high-impact turns or chase-heavy exercise. In Perth, move activity to cool conditions and check the ground before setting out.
GOOD = low-impact sniffing, self-paced ground play and structured tug; NOT YET = repeated stairs, jumping or running beside a bicycle while growth plates are developing.
