Meet the Beagle's needs through self-paced sniffing walks, scent trails, scatter searches and other controlled nose work. A growing puppy still follows the manual's general growth-plate protections: do not replace scent work with forced mileage, repeated high-speed turns or endless fetching. Keep physical management in place wherever a trail could carry the puppy beyond a safe boundary.
GOOD = low-impact sniffing, self-paced ground play and structured tug; NOT YET = repeated stairs, jumping or running beside a bicycle while growth plates are developing.
Before twelve months: limit impact, keep exploration
Replace repetitive impact with low-impact, puppy-controlled activity.
